Ye shimbra Asa (Pea Flour Fish)

Please note this dish does not contain any fish as the name suggests.
In fact it is a vegan dish

2 Onions chopped
3 Tbl spoons Berbere
1 Tbl spoon Cayenne
2 Cup Chick pea flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
Oil (Olive) for frying
1/3 Cup Oil

In your pot stir the onions and a little oil over low heat until browned.
Add 1/3 cup of water along with the cayenne, salt & oil. Simmer for 10 minutes & then add another 2/3 c water & the berbere.
Bring to a boil, cover & reduce heat, stirring occasionally.

Add enough water to the pea flour to make a thick dough similar to that for rolled small cake type balls (think Falafel).

Lightly flour these and then they are ready to fry.

When they are crisp & brown, spoon them into the sauce in the pot.
Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
Lift pieces out with a slotted spoon & drain on a cloth.

Serve with the sauce.
